Her theme is blue. I find blue a difficult color to work with. Anyway, I like how it turned out.

I made this Zentangle for the weekly challenge of the Diva, but I didn't read the challenge right. I thought I had to make a Zentangle using only 2 patterns, well I was correct on that but I overlooked the fact that the 2 patterns were given. Well I chose 2 other patterns and this is the result.

Ik heb deze Zentangle voor de wekelijkse uitdaging van de Diva gemaakt, maar ik heb niet goed gelezen. Ik dacht dat ik een Zentangle moest maken met slechts 2 patronen, dat klopt wel, alleen waren de 2 patronen opgegeven, terwijl ik 2 andere heb uitgekozen. Dit is mijn resultaat.

I have a new stamp with a craquelé pattern, I love it. Here I used it, stamping gold paint onto a black background.
Ik heb een nieuwe stempel in een craquelé patroon. Ik vind ´m zo mooi. Ik heb ´m hier gebruikt met goudkleurige verf op zwarte stof.

Summer is still very warm in Leiden. Very good for celebrating Leiden's liberation from the Spanish, back in 1575. Back then Leiden was a city surrounded by walls with 4 gates, only 2 are still left and the walls were surrounded by moats. We celebrate this every year with a parade, big fair, market, singing, white bread and herring, hotchpotch and for many people lots and lots of drinking.
Jose and I went into town to see all that's going on. It was burning hot in the sun. The pictures of the fair were too out of focus to show. The pics of the Rhine with the bridge covered in knitting however turned out well. Lots of people were sailing boats and the terrasses on the water were crowded, Music everywhere.

Dit weekend was het warm in Leiden. Komt goed uit voor 3 oktober als we Leiden's ontzet vieren. Dit gebeurde in 1575 toen we werden bevrijd van de Spanjaarden. Leiden was toen nog omgeven door stadsmuren met daarin 4 poorten, waarvan nu nog 2 over zijn. De muren waren omringd door singels.
Ieder jaar wordt Leiden's ontzet gevierd met een grote kermis, koraal, optocht, markt, haring en wittebrood, hutspot en kroegentocht en overal muziek.
De foto's van de kermis zijn te wazig om te plaatsen. De foto's van het inbreien van de brug en dukdalven bij de Waag zijn wel goed gelukt. Jose en ik zijn de stad doorgelopen en het was bloedheet. Veel mensen op het water in bootjes of op terrassen.

I was having fun with it so I continued with a favorite: ferns and fungi. Its quite a ful drawing.

I enjoyed the new technique a lot, so I made another one. I drew a big flower on a bright colored, hand dyed cotton. While stitching the background I ran out of yarn and couldn't find the same yarn again.
Ik vind de nieuwe techniek erg leuk, dus heb ik er nog eentje gemaakt. Ik heb een grote bloem getekend op een fel gekleurde, handgeverfde katoen. Toen ik de achtergrond aan 't stikken was, raakte het garen op en ik kon dezelfde kleur niet meer kopen.

I found a matching, variegated yarn with which I finished the background. I think it looks real good.
Ik vond wel een bijpassend, gemêleerd garen waarmee ik de achtergrond heb afgemaakt. Ik vind het mooi passen.

Here you can see the piece after painting the flower. Pearl brown for the cone, a watered down dark red for the petals which flowed a bit too much. I painted some pearl dark red on top. 2 colors of green for the stem.
Hier zie je het werk na het verven van de bloem. Parelmoer bruin voor het hart, een verdund bordeau voor de lintbloemen, dat is een beetje doorgelopen. Ik heb er weer wat parelmoer bordeau overheen geverfd. 2 kleuren groen voor de steel met schutblaadje.

Last touch was toning down the bright color of the background with white paintstick to get more contrast with the flower.
Als laatse de helderheid van achtergrond afgezwakt met witte paintstick zodat er meer contrast met de bloem ontstaat.

I recently bought this book. It's about drawing, quilting and painting a piece of multi-colored fabric, thus making one cloth quilts. I love the bright colors, the flower themes, the painting and the free quilting.
Ik heb onlangs dit boek gekocht. Het gaat over hoe je 1 veelkleurige lap kunt quilten en verven en zo een quilt uit 1 stuk maakt. Ik houd van heldere kleuren, bloemthema's en het verven en vrij quilten.

This is my first try. I drew one big flower and 3 bunches of small ones. Then I stitched the lines using 3 different yarns.
Hier mijn eerste probeersel. Ik heb 1 grote en toeven kleine bloemen getekend, die ik vervolgens met 3 verschillende garens heb doorgestikt.

Painted with pebeo pearl, trapsuutjies pearl and Lumiere. Centers of small flowers are embellished with French knots.
Geverfd met pebeo parelmoer, trapsuutjies parelmoer en Lumiere. Hartjes van kleine bloemetjes zijn versierd met knoopjessteken.

I'm pleased with the result and will make more pieces in this fun technique.
Ik ben tevereden over het resultaat en ga zeker meer maken in deze techniek.

ik heb hierop gestempeld in zachtgeel en opaak wit.
I stamped it in pale yellow and opaque white.

daarna heb ik er rondjes in donkergroen op gestempeld, dit worden de zaaddozen.

na 't drogen heb ik ze geborduurd met de cast on steek met bruin rayon splijtgaren
then I stamped rounds in dark green. this will become the seedheads.
after drying I embroidered these with the cast on stitch using brown rayon floss.

I've made more zentangles. I really, really love them. Also take a look at the ones Wilma made.
Ik heb meer zentangles gemaakt. Ik ben er echt weg van. Kijk ook een bij die van Wilma.

9 blocks are pieced together and most of the appliqué is in place. I need to find my black fabric for the bird wings. The bottom row needs to be stitched to the top rows, they are only pinned in place for now. When all the sewing and appliqué is done, I have to do the embroidery and add beads and buttons. My very first all hand stitched quilt is going well.

9 blokken zijn aan elkaar gezet en de meeste applicaties zijn gedaan. Ik ben nog op zoek naar m'n zwarte stof voor de vleugels van de vogels. De onderste rij moet nog aan de blokken erboven genaaid worden. Ze zitten nu alleen maar gespeld. Als al het naai- en applicatiewerk klaar is, moet ik nog verder met borduren en versieren met kralen en knopen. Mijn allereerste met de hand genaaide quilt gaat vlotjes.

My dad loves the gladiolus. After buying Frieda's book, I wanted to make a quilt of the gladiolus for my dad and since there wasn't any in the book I decided to design my own gladiolus quilt in her style. Here's the result with below it the pictures of the process from drawing to finished quilt. All made up from hand dyed fabrics. The quilt is now on the wall in my parents' house.
Mijn vader houd van de gladiool. Nadat ik het boek van Frieda had gekocht wilde ik een quilt met gladiolussen maken maar die stond niet in het boek. Daarom heb ik er zelf een ontworpen, maar wel in de stijl van het boek. Hieronder een foto van het resultaat met daaronder foto's van het proces van tekening tot kant en klare quilt. Alles gemaakt van zelfgeverfde stoffen. De quilt hangt nu bij mijn ouders aan de muur.

Here's my second zentangle. I'm not happy with the lines within the oval in the middle. Also I accidentally continued with a black pen after taking a brake. It was meant to be all brown.
Dit is mijn tweede zentangle. Ik vind de lijnen in het ovaal in 't midden niet mooi geworden. Bovendien ben ik bij vergissing na een pauze verder gegaan met zwart. Ik had ook deze helemaal in 't bruin willen tekenen.

Tonight Jose and Abdul have put up my crocheted lace curtains for me. The shades were removed to make place and now I can finally enjoy the result of my work. It measures over 60 cm high and more than 2 meter wide.
Vanavond hebben Jose en Abdul voor mij m'n gehaakte gordijntjes opgehangen. De rolgordijn zijn verwijderd om plaats te maken. Eindelijk kan ik genieten van het resultaat van m'n werk. De gordijntjes zijn samen ruim 60 cm hoog en meer dan 2 meter breed.

Quite some time ago I started to make a fabricpage with a mask theme. I didn't like how it turned out at all. Now I finally decided to start over again with a different design. I put red organza decorated with stars on top of aqua colored satin and started beading. I like it much better now but have still a lot to do.

Geruime tijd geleden ben ik begonnen met het maken van een textielpagina met het thema masker. Het resultaat stond me helemaal niet aan. Ik heb de knoop doorgehakt en ben opnieuw begonnen. Ik heb rode, met sterretjes bedrukte organza over aquablauwe satijn gespannen en zit nu dit masker te maken van kralen. Een heel werk maar het ziet er ten minste beter uit.

I finally tried my hand at zentangle and I love it. This is my very first drawing and I'm totally amazed at the result. I've been reading about it here. It all started when I found the little red book below that looked just perfect for zentangle. I prefer brown pen over the usual black one.
Ik heb nu toch eindelijk een Zentangle geprobeerd te maken en ik vind het leuk. Dit is mijn allereerste and ik sta ervan te kijken hoe goed 't meteen al lukt. Ik heb er hier over gelezen.
Het is zo makkelijk Het begon eigenlijk met het rode boekje hieronder dat wel leek gemaakt om zentangles in te tekenen. Ik geef de voorkeur aan een bruine pen boven een zwarte die er gewoonlijk voor gebruikt wordt.

Today I sewed the first 2 rows of 3 blocks together. I've been sewing and appliquéing everything by hand. There are a few things I want to alter and 2 of the birds still need their wings. Block #7 has been patched and I have block #8 ready to be cut and also the appliqué pieces for both has to be cut, I'm almost up to date. I want it ready before the next and last block is available in September. Who's also doing this BOM?
Ik kijk iedere maand weer uit naar het volgende block van deze BOM. Vandaag heb ik de eerste twee rijen van 3 blokken aan elkaar genaaid. Dit werk doe ik helemaal op de hand. Ik wil nog een paar dingen veranderen en twee van de vogels hebben nog geen vleugels. Blok 7 zit al in elkaar, voor blok 8 liggen de stofjes klaar om te worden geknipt almede de stofjes voor de applicaties op blok 7 en 8. Ik ben weer bijna bij. I made this little quilt from a photo I took last winter. I enjoy seeing and making bare trees. Handdyed fabrics only.
Ik heb dit quiltje gemaakt naar een foto dit ik afgelopen winter heb genomen. Ik vind kale bomen mooi en wil er nog meer maken. Ik heb alleen handgeverfde stoffen gebruikt.

I wanted to give my mom something special for her birthday. I took a silk scarf and tied with pebbles of various sizes and rubberbands. I let it soak in sodawater and then painted the background in red (rhodoniet/stv) and the pebbles with yellow (opaliet/stv). below the step by step pics and the result. I finished it only a few weeks after her bd.
Ik wilde voor m'n moeders verjaardag een speciaal kado maken. Ik heb een zijden sjaal genomen en heb er met elastiekjes kiezels van verschillend formaat in vastgemaakt. Na het geheel te laten weken in soda water heb ik de achtergrond geverfd met rood (rhodoniet/stv) en de kiezels met geel(opaliet/stv). Hieronder de stap voor stap foto's en het resultaat.

I parfait dyed them, see pictures below.
Ik heb witte rompertjes gekocht. Het eerste setje heb ik geverfd met de resten van het werk hierboven. Ik heb ze in de parfait techniek geverfd. Zie foto's hieronder.

I wanted to add some accent and found that all my stencils are at my parents. So I chose a turtle and a mom and baby elephant and cut new stencils. Much better now.
Ik wilde nog een accent toevoegen maar kwam erachter dat mijn sjablonen bij m'n ouders liggen. Daarom heb ik een schildpad en een moeder en kind olifant uitgekozen en er nieuwe sjablonen van gesneden. Veel beter zo.

The most incredible and horrible thing has happened: Casper is no longer with us.

My big, strong, cuddly tom cat fell asleep in my arms on April 25 to never wake up again.

He was only 10 years old and has always been healthy. I still cannot believe it.

He crossed the rainbow bridge way too early. Read about the rainbow bridge here.

Wat ik nooit voor mogelijk had gehouden is gebeurd. Casper is er niet meer.

Mijn grote, sterke knuffelkater is op 25 april in mijn armen in slaap gevallen om nooit meer wakker te worden. Hij was pas 10 jaar oud en is altijd heel gezond geweest. Ik kan het nog steeds niet geloven.

this is the hearts bom designed by Shell. I've embroidered all hearts and the fabric strips are cut and ready to be sewn. I love these colors. dit is de harten bom ontworpen door Shell. ik heb alle harten geborduurd en de stof voor tussen de blokjes geknipt. ik houd van deze kleuren.

Casper is still sick. He had another appointment at the vet today, just like yesterday and tomorrow. He got shots, but didn't need a drip today. We've started feeding him by hand. It goes in, like it or not. Until now it stays in. Yeah. He hasn't been eating for a week now. He still had a raised temperature, but looks more alert. Casper is nog steeds ziek. Hij moest vandaag weer naar de dierenarts, net als gister en morgen. Hij kreeg z'n prikken maar hoefde geen infuus. We voeren hem nu met de hand, onder dwang. Tot nog toe blijft 't binnen. Hij heeft nu al een week niet gegeten. Hij had nog steeds verhoging, maar is meer alert.

Casper, my sweet tomcat is sick. I took him to the vet and he got weighted, injected, infused, his temp was taken, they looked him in his throat and put some sticky stuff in his mouth. He hardly objected at all. During the evening he's getting his voice back but he still avoids food.

Casper, m'n lieve kater is ziek. Ik ben met 'm naar de dierenarts gegaan en ze hebben 'm gewogen, getemperatuurd, geïnjecteerd, hij kreeg een infuus, ze keken in z'n keel en toen kreeg ie een plakkerig spulletje in z'n bek. In de loop van de avond kreeg ie weer wat praatjes, maar eten, dat moet ie niet.

silk 28 x28 cm stitched spiral pulled thight as a resist dyed with rhodoniet marbles tied with rubber bands in cotton. bottom side in a layer of rhodoniet (red) top side dyed with opaliet (yellow) fabric folded, half circles stitched and tied thightly. dyed with beriet (very dark brown) fabric scrunched into a ball, dipped into dye (rhodoniet) for only 2 seconds.

here is a motif that I cut out of a piece of lace curtain.
hier is een motief dat ik uit een stuk vitrage heb geknipt.

I asked my dad to saw a piece of wood in the shape of the motif.
ik vroeg mijn vader een stuk hout uit te zagen in de vorm van het motief.

I glued the motif onto the wood with carpet tape.
ik plakte het motief met tapijttape op het hout.

I applied 3 layers of gesso, making sure not to fill the lower parts with the paint.
ik heb 3 lagen gesso aangebracht en er goed op gelet het reliëf te bewaren.

here's my first try. I'd laid my fabric on a hard background. I will have to make a second print with fabric on a towel or something like that. that'll make the motif show up better. still I like it the way it turned out.
hier is m'n eerste afdruk. de stof lag op een harde ondergrond. ik ga nog een afdruk maken, maar dan leg ik de stof op een handdoek of zo. dan zal het motief beter afdrukken. evengoed ben ik tevreden met de afdruk.

At the ATC group of stitchinfingers we had a swap with the theme "song".
Anne made this ATC for me: A ticket to ride by the Beatles. The back of this ATC has a pocket that holds the ticket. I love this ATC, what a clever idea! Thank you Anne.

Anne heeft deze ATC voor mij gemaakt: A ticket to ride van de Beatles. Aan de achterkant van deze ATC zit een vakje met daarin het kaartje. Wat een leuke ATC, zo origineel.

I'm participating in the fabric pages swap at Fibre Fever. I'm finishing the last pages. This one is for Helinä. She chose a Beatles theme. Tineke, one of the members of my knitting group, gave me the information I needed to make this page. She sent me the Chinese characters of the original text by Laotse. I painted these characters in reverse with transferpaint and ironed them onto satin. This text inspired the Beatles to write the song "inner light". With a title like that I wanted to create transparency. Below you can see the layers that make this page. I hope Helinä likes the result.

Voor de textielpaginaruil van Fibre Fever moest ik een pagina voor Helinä maken met het thema Beatles. Ik ben geen Beatles fan en vond het moeilijk hier een pagina voor te maken. Tineke, die bij dezelfde breigroep zit als ik, bracht uitkomst. Ze stuurde mijn een pagina met Chinese karakters, dit is de originele tekst van Laotse, die de Beatles inspireerde tot het schrijven van het nummer "inner light". Met zo'n titel wilde ik iets transparants maken. Hierboven de 4 laagjes die samen de pagina vormen. Ik heb de karakters in spiegelschrift overgeschilderd met transferverf en toen op satijn gestreken. Ik hoop dat Helinä de pagina mooi vindt.

At our Tegendraads 1 group we're doing a complex cloth. Every month Barbara announces a technique that we have to use on our cloth. Here's the fabric I started out with. Its cotton painted with Procion.
Met onze Tegendraads 1 groep maken we een complex cloth. Iedere maand geeft Barbara een nieuwe techniek die we op onze lap moeten gebruiken. Hieronder de beginlap, een met Procion geverfde katoen.

First technique was stenciling. I've used a stencil I've found at the V&D. I stenciled with black pearl fabric paint.
De eerste techniek was sjabloneren. Ik heb een sjabloon gebruikt dat ik onlangs bij V&D heb gevonden. Ik heb zwartparelmoer textielverf gebruikt.

Next technique was stamping. I used the foam stamps that dd gave me some years ago. They are flowery and curly and right up my alley.
De volgende techniek was stempelen. Ik heb schuimstempels gebruikt die ik enige jaren geleden van m'n dochter kreeg. Ze zijn bloemig en krullerig en precies mijn smaak.

I mixed all paint with white opaque paint by Trapsuutjies because they were transparent.
Still the orange didn't show up very well because it doesn't have enough contrast with the background. I solved this by putting a small dark red line around the orange shapes. Not perfect, but better.
Ik heb alle verf gemengd met opaak wit van Trapsuutjies omdat ze transparant waren. Evengoed toont het oranje niet omdat het niet genoeg contrasteert met de achtergrond. Ik heb dit opgelost door een fijn donkerrood lijntje rondom alle oranje vormen te tekenen. Niet perfect maar wel beter.

Daniëlle in Tegendraads 2 asked for AAs with the theme "Freedom". This is the AA I've made for her. On the back I've written "Free as a bird" and "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to loose" a Janis Joplin quote. For more AAs with this theme click here.

I started with a base of synthetic damast. I ironed on this bamboo drawing made with transfer crayons. The bird is made from a turquoise glittery fabric with 2 layers of organza on top. On the top layer I drew the bird. I machine stitched the drawn lines using variegated yarn. I removed the excess organza and glitter fabric with the soldering iron. I covered the whole piece. Hand quilted the leaves and bird. Some leaves are not quilted which gives them a more distant look. I finished everything off with transparent ochre beads.

Daniëlle in Tegendraads 2 vroeg om AAs met het thema Vrijheid. Dit is de AA die ik voor dit thema heb gemaakt. Op de achterkant heb ik geschreven: zo vrij als een vogel en een quote van Janis Joplin. Voor meer AAs met dit thema klik hier.

De basis is een synthetische damast. Ik heb er de afbeelding met bamboebladeren opgestreken. De afbeelding was gemaakt met transfer krijtjes. De vogel is gemaakt van turkoois glitterstof met daarop twee laagjes organza. Op de bovenste laag is het vogeltje getekend dat ik vervolgens op de machine heb doorgestikt met gemêleerd garen. Dan weer het teveel aan organza en glitterstof verwijderd met de soldeerbout. Daarna heb ik het geheel bedekt met organza en de vogel en bamboe met de hand gequilt. Sommige blaadjes zijn niet gequilt waardoor ze wat verder weg lijken. Ik heb het geheel afgewerkt met transparante okerkleurige kraaltjes.

There has been slow progress on my slow cloth. Right now its too painfull to stitch on because I have a tennis elbow. Lots of things have become forbidden to do, alas.

I'm in 2 swaps of fabric pages. First the arch shaped pages by a group of the stitchinfingers fabric pages group. Here's the blog. I have finished "the sea" for Mandy. I find it very hard to portray water/sea/river/waterfall. I've bought satins and velvets in the right colors at the Saturday market. After appliqueing the page I added a shiny thread along the seamlines. I still felt something was missing. I used dyed scrim, that I distorted and tore to add sea foam. Now I feel
better about the page. I hope she'll like it.
Ik ben in twee uitwisselingen van textielpagina's. Allereerst de pagina's voor de stitchingfingers textielpagina's groep. Hier is het blog. Ik heb de zee voor Mandy klaar. Ik vind het moeilijk om water in al z'n vormen uit te beelden. Ik heb satijnen en fluwelen in passende kleuren gekocht op de zaterdagmarkt. Na het appliceren heb ik een glanzend draadje langs de lijnen opgenaaid. Ik vond dat het toen toch nog niet compleet was en heb toen geverfde scrim gebruikt, gescheurd en uit elkaar getrokken , om schuim op de golven te maken. Nu ben ik wel tevreden over de pagina. Nou maar hopen dat Many er ook tevreden mee is.

Juliette asked for the sea shore. Again the challenge to portray the sea. The sea shell is filled with 2 layers of bright green felt, this gives the cream colored satin a touch of green, matching with the sea. Below a close-up of the shell.
Juliette had gevraagd om de zeekust. Weer de uitdaging om zee te maken. De wokkel is gevuld met twee lagen helden groen vilt, dit geeft de cremekleurige satijn een groene tint, wat mooi kleurt bij de zee. Hieronder een detailfoto van de schelp.

The other swap runs at the fibre fever group. I'm working on the page with a Beatle song theme. Tineke, who has studied Chinese, gave me this Chinese text on which one of their songs was based. I have painted a mirror image of this text with transfer paint. I want to iron this onto organza and make transparent layers for this page. Still pondering on the best way to design this page.
De andere ruil gaat via de fibre fever groep. Ik werk aan een pagina met als thema een nummer van de Beatles. Tineke, die Chinees heeft gestudeerd, heeft me aan een Chinese tekst geholpen waarop één van nummers is gebaseerd. Ik heb het spiegelbeeld van deze tekst met transfer verf geschilderd. Ik ga deze tekst op organza strijken en transparante laagjes voor deze pagina maken. Ik zit nog na te denken hoe ik 't allemaal in 't vat ga gieten.

I'm following 2 stitchery boms. First are the hearts designed by Shell of the Raspberry Rabbits. I've stitched the blocks for January and February. I needed 2 fabrics for the patchwork, the batik with black for the sashings and the dark red for the corners. I'm stitching with #5 variegated perl DMC yarn. For the hearts BOM click here.
Ik volg twee borduur BOMs. Iedere maand komt er een nieuw patroon bij. Eerst de harten ontworpen door Shell van the Raspberry Rabbits. Ik heb de blokken voor januari en februari af. Naast het borduurwerk heb ik nog 2 stofjes nodig, de donkere batik voor de strookjes tussen de blokken en de rode stof voor vierkantjes waar de strookjes bij elkaar komen. Ik borduur met #5 perlé gemêleerd DMC garen. Voor de patroontjes klik hier.

My daughter Jose loves these bird designs, so I'm stitching this one for her. These blocks are twice as big as the heart blocks. I'm also using #5 DMC perl yarn for these blocks, colors are Jose's choice. For the BOM info and patterns click here. Birdie designs.

wired leaves

I enjoy making wired leaves. I bend the wire and tack it to the fabric. I cover the wire with buttonhole stitches and then till in the leave with satin stitch. I use a single strand of cotton floss. The straight edges leaves are easy. For the first time I also did holly leaves. It was quite a struggle to bend the wire into the right shape and make nice sharp spikes. Who has tips and tricks for making this easy?

Ik mag graag bladeren borduren met een ijzerdraadje in de rand. Ik buig het draadje in de juiste vorm en zet het met kleine steedjes vast op de stof. Dan bedek ik het draad met kleine knoopsgatsteekjes. Daarna vul ik het blad in met satijnsteek. Alles met 1 draadje splijtkatoen. Het maken van de blaadjes met gladde rand was makkelijk zat. Nu heb ik voor het eerst ook hulstblaadjes gedaan. Wat een gedoe om de randen te buigen en mooie scherpe puntjes te maken. Wie kent er tips en trukjes om dat makkelijker te maken.

Tonny and I are doing a grabbag challenge. I'd gathered hand dyed fabrics in colors that I find hard to work with but I know Tonny likes. I've added stamps that I'd cut hadn't used yet plus some lace. This is the result. I'm stunned, I love it! It will get a prominent place at my mantle piece. Thank you so much Tonny. I love your work.
Tonny en ik doen samen een grabbag challenge. Ik had handgeverfde stofjes bijh elkaar gezocht in kleuren die ik lastig vind om mee te werken maar waarvan ik weet dat Tonny van houdt. Ik heb stempels erbij gedaan die ik had gesneden maar nog niet gebruikt. En ook wat kant. Dit is het resultaat geworden. Fantastisch, ik vind het prachtig. Ik ga 'm op m'n schoorsteenmantel hangen, goed in 't zicht. Dank je Tonny, ik vind je werk geweldig.

I finally finished this small Lord of the Rings quilt. All hand dyed fabric,plus some Angelina, cut up flower trim, fluffy thread from a swap and silk flowers. I was thinking of having a give-away on my blog but dd claimed it. Have to think of something else.

Silky with crocheted and beaded fan and a small painted piece of rose lace. 2 beaded braids to cover the edges of the lace and a flying swallow for the vintage lady to look at.

De basis is handgeverfde katoen waarop repen kant zijn gelegd, sommige gekleurd met thee, sommige met borduurwerk en eentje met wasparels versierd. Silky met gehaakte en met kralen versierde waaier en een klein, geverfd stukje rozenkant. 2 stukken band versierd met kraaltjes om de randen van het kant te bedekken en een vliegende zwaluw voor de dame om naar te kijken.

This is the base for the page with "vintage ladies" as theme. I've soaked 2 of these laces in tea. The background fabric is hand dyed in a pale peachbeige. I have a crocheted fan to add. I've been searching for my silkies with vintage ladies but they seem to have disappeared. That's a problem.
Dit is de basis voor een pagina met thema "nostalgische dames". Ik heb twee van deze kantjes in thee laten weken. De achtergrondstof is handgeverfd in een zachte zalmbeige. Ik heb een gehaakte waaier om erop te maken. Ik heb gezocht naar m'n silkies met nostalgische plaatjes maar die zijn mysterieus verdwenen (nou ja, niet zó mysterieus als je m'n kamer kent) en dat is lastig.

First I've stamped with old gold paint on hand dyed fabric.
Volgende pagina heeft "oude symbolen" als thema. Ik hou van kokopelli, dus die ga ik maken.
Allereerst heb ik met oud goud verf op handgeverfde stof gestempeld.

Then I cut a kokopelli shape from another piece of hand dyed fabric and fused it on.
Toen heb ik een kokopelli figuur uit een ander handgeverfd stofje geknipt en opgestreken.

Then I added beads to portray the music.
Daarna heb ik kralen opgenaaid bij wijze van muziek.

Since I wasn's sure about what color combo would look best I stamped another piece of fabric too.
Ik was niet zeker welke kleuren ik zou gebruiken, dus heb ik tegelijkertijd nog een lapje bestempeld.

Yesterday I've showed the woven background for this fabric page. Today I've been working on the flowers. I'm working from top to bottom. Top flowers are embroidered on, lower flowers are only pinned on and some are missing their pistils.
Gisteren heb ik de gevlochten achtergrond voor deze textielpagina laten zien. Vandaag heb ik aan de bloemen gewerkt. Ik werk van boven naar onder. Bovenste bloemen zijn vastgeborduurd, de onderste zijn alleen maar gespeld en missen nog meeldraden.

Here I've been weaving strips of hand dyed fabric again. These pieces make great backgrounds for anything.
Ik ben weer bezig geweest met het vlechten van stroken handgeverfde stof. Deze stukken zijn prachtig als achtergrond.

The moment I took this picture Minoes started you yawn. Love the look on her little face. She's very fond of her bear ever since she was a kitten.
Toen ik deze foto nam begon Minoes net te gapen. Wat een snoet. Ze is van kleins af aan gek op haar beer.

Front of the flower themes page for Kath is done. Still have to add filling and backing.

Ik moet nog een pagina met bloementhema maken voor de ruil bij Fibre Fever. Deze pagina's zijn 15 cm in 't vierkant. Ik heb daarvoor deze achtergrond gemaakt. Kleurige bloemen zullen hier goed op uitkomen.

Evi requested pages with pictures from the "Le petit prince". I wasn't familiar with this book. This is what I've done so far. I painted the prince, sky and ground and appliquéd the walls. Now I have to embroider climbing roses against the walls.

First half of the year I kept up with everything I had to do. Then summer came, our first exhibition, busy time, lots of birthdays, exhaustion followed by shingles and flu. Got over it all and started working on everything I fell behind with. My winter depression it trying to take over but every day I keep working on finishing what I owe people through swaps. Snow dyeing. Here are the results. I used the colors benitoiet, rhodoniet and zonnesteen.
I'm stunned by the results.
Sneeuwverven, hier zijn de resultaten. Ik heb de kleuren benitoiet, rhodoniet en zonnesteen gebruikt. Ik ben verbluft door de resultaten.

The flowerpots after the snow has melted, with the mop cloth at the bottom of the tray.
De bloempotten nadat de sneeuw is gesmolten, met de kliederlap ertussen in de bak.

This is the mop cloth after rinsing and ironing.
Dit is de kliederlap na 't spoelen en strijken.

There are fun motifs in this cloth. Below looks either like a butterfly or a mask.
Er zitten leuke motieven in deze lap. Hieronder lijkt 't net op een vlinder of masker.

And this looks like the hand of a ghost. Booooh!
En dit lijkt op een spookhand, boeoeoe!

Soaking mop cloth. Looks already promising.
Intrekkende kliederlap. Ziet er al veelbelovend uit.

So I put a flowerpot on top of a glass jar. Both had a piece of cotton soaked in SA in it.

I'm amazed by the difference in color, because they got the same dye.
Ik heb dus een bloempot op een glazen pot gezet. Allebei bevatten ze een stuk in soda geweekte katoen. Ik ben verbaasd over de verschillen in kleur, want ten slotte kregen ze allebei dezelfde verf.

I do understand how and why, but I just didn't expect it.

Ik snap wel hoe en waarom, maar ik verwachtte het gewoon niet.

Snow dyeing. I saw at Margeeth's blog that she used flower pots with holes in the bottom and pots below to catch the dye coming through those holes. I put fabric soaked with SA in the drip pots plus one stretched out in between all the pots. I used Benitoiet, a dark purple, Rhodoniet, a dark red and Zonnesteen an orange yellow.
Sneeuwverven. Ik zag deze opzet op Margeeth's blog. Ze heeft bloempotten met gaatjes in de bodem op potten gezet waarin het doorlekkende verf/gesmolten sneeuwmengsel wordt opgevangen. Naast de lappen onder de sneeuw heb ik ook in SA gedrenkte lappen in de lekpotten gestopt en eentje uitgespreid tussen alle potten om gemorste verf op te vangen. Ik ben reuze benieuwd naar het resultaat. Ik heb verf van STV gebruikt: Benitoiet = een donkere paars, Rhodoniet = een donkerrood, Zonnesteen = een oranjegeel.

Today our art quilt group Tegendraads got together and Mariet taught us how to braid fabric strips. Although I've done this before Mariet showed us lovely variations, that were very inspiring. These are two pieces I made this afternoon. Take a look at the Tegendraads blog to see all results.
Vandaag kwam onze art quilt groep Tegendraads bij elkaar en Mariet heeft ons geleerd om repen stof te vlechten. Ook al heb ik zoiets al eens gedaan kwam ze met mooie en inspirerende voorbeelden en ik heb met veel plezier de twee onderstaande stukken gemaakt. The other fabric is the result of tray dyeing.

Some time ago the Dutch Fibermail group got together and among other things we exchanged packages with material. The receiver of a package had to make something using most of the materials in the package and adding some of her own. This had to be sent back to the maker of the package as a present for Sinterklaas at December 5th. I received material from Aty and after long thinking made a fabric book for her. The pages measure 6" square and all have hairy yarn along the edges. I really love Aty's fabrics , all of them handdyed, painted or stamped and in lovely colors.
Enige tijd geleden kwam de Fibermailgroep bij elkaar en naast andere leuke dingen deden we een ruil van pakketjes met materiaal. De ontvanger van zo'n pakketje moest met de meeste materialen en wat van haarzelf iets maken. Dit moest als sinterklaaskadootje gestuurd worden naar de samenstelster van het pakketje. Ik kreeg materiaal van Aty en na lang nadenken heb ik besloten een textielboekje te maken, 15 cm in 't vierkant, met harig garen langs alle buitenranden genaaid. Ik vind de stoffen van Aty prachtig, ze waren handgeverfd en gestempeld en in heerlijke kleuren.

Here I've applied green paint through a stencil with feathers onto nuno felt. After drying I melted the felt around the paint with a heat gun thus creating nice fern leaves.
Hier heb ik groene verf aangebracht op nuno vilt met behulp van een sjabloom met veren. Na 't drogen heb ik met een heat gun het vilt rondom de verf gesmolten zodat er varenbladeren ontstonden.

I cut a piece from Aty's fabric and arranged a piece from a scarf Tonny (check out her page to see what she made of her package!) gave me, to create a forest floor.
Ik heb een stuk van Aty's stof geknipt en heb er een stuk van een sjaal op gelegd dat ik van Tonny (kijk vooral ook op haar blog om te zien wat zij van haar pakketje heeft gemaakt!) heb gekregen om de bosgrond te creëren.

I cut another piece from this fabric and applied puff paint through a honeysuckle stencil.
Ik heb nog een stuk van deze stof geknipt en met een sjabloon een kamperfoelie van puff paint aangebracht.

Green fabric onto which I ironned painted vliesofix, one yellow square and one bluish green.
Groene stof waarop ik geverfde vliesofix heb gestreken, een geel en een blauwgroen stuk.

Here I stenciled on a burgundy crane. I cut the stencil myself.
Hier heb ik een donkerrode kraanvogel gesjabloneerd. Ik heb het sjabloon zelf uitgesneden.

At the other piece of fabric I stenciled these three birds. The twig is done in puff paint again.

Also this stencil is cut by me.
Op het andere stuk stof heb ik deze 3 vogels gesjabloneerd. De tak is weer met puff paint gedaan. Ook dit sjabloon is door mij uitgesneden.

In the Netherlands we celebrate Sinterklaas at December 5th. This is an example of one of the present/surprises we made. My nephew loves cactus's and he has walking sticks. so we decided to make him a walking cactus with a present hidden inside. Jose did most of the work. I think its kinda cute.
Het is weer Sinterklaastijd. We hebben surprise gemaakt voor m'n neef die van cactussen en wandelende takken houdt: een wandelende cactus. Het kadootje zit erin verstopt. Jose heeft het meeste werk gedaan. Ik vind 'm best leuk geworden.

I'm intrigued by the concept of slow cloth. I read about it at this blog and felt I had to give it a try. So I tore some hand dyed fabrics and braided them. Now I'm stitching them with Blomstergarn.

Results of the PC swaps. For each month we had a different material to use in the card.

It was fun to see how different everybody used the various materials. At the top of the card holders you can see the challenge material, like the bear can at the right, bottom picture and each card below it containing a piece of some soda or bear can.
Resultaten van de kaartenruilen. Iedere maand hadden we een ander materiaal dat we in de kaart moesten verwerken. Het was leuk te zien hoe verschillend iedereen met de verschillende materialen omging. Zoals het bierblik rechts, onderste foto, met iedere kaart daaronder met een stukje frisdrank- of bierblik.

Dit weekend is je laatste kans om onze tentoonstelling te gaan bekijken. De tentoonstelling is tot nog toe goed bezocht en we krijgen veel lovende reacties. Echt de moeite om nog even te gaan kijken. Het Wevershuis zelf is ook heel interessant en sfeervol om te zien.
Dus ga nog even kijken, vanmiddag en morgenmiddag geopend van 13.00 tot 16.00 uur.

Today it was my turn to do a demo at the Tegendraads exhibition. Photo's of people and quilts in this post are taken by Tonny. I wanted to show how you can improve your fabric by adding painted vliesofix. Here is the example I brought. Hand dyed fabric with ironed on vliesofix painted with gold metallic paint. I also brought paper painted with transfer paint and my file with stencils. At the example below I applied puff paint through a stencil and when dry puffed it with a heatgun. Then I painted it with brown paint and when dry painted it with sap green which I wiped off immediately so that it only remained in the lower parts to make it look like real bark.
Vandaag was het mijn beurt om een demo te geven bij de Tegendraads tentoonstelling. Foto's van mensen en quilts in dit bericht zijn genomen door Tonny. Ik wilde laten zien hoe je je stof mooier kunt maken door er geverfde vliesofix op te strijken. Hier is het voorbeeld dat ik had meegebracht. Handgeverfde stof met met goud metallic verf behandelde vliesofix erop gestreken. Ik had ook m'n met transferverf beschilderde papier meegebracht en een map met stencils. Bij het voorbeeld hieronder heb ik puff paint aangebracht door een sjabloon. Na drogen meer volume gegeven met de heatgun. Daarna geverfd met bruine acryl, na drogen nog eens met sapgroen. Die is er meteen weer afgewreven zodat het alleen achterbleef in de kiertjes en kuiltjes waardoor het geheel echt op boombast ging lijken.

I couldn't get a better picture of my little portrait quilt. It can be seen at the exhibition of our art quilt group Tegendraads at the Wevershuis in Leiden. All 16 of us have made a portrait, you can see the collage of these portraits at the exhibition along with our work made for challenges, workshops, round robins and exchanges plus private work of each of us. Plz come and see the exhibition when you're in the neighbourhood, its worth your time.

Ik kon geen betere foto van mijn kleine portretquiltje maken. Je kunt het zien bij de tentoonstelling van onze art quilt groep Tegendraads in het Wevershuis. Alle 16 leden van de groep hebben een portretquiltje gemaakt en de collage daarvan hangt op de tentoonstelling. Verder hangt er werk gemaakt naar aanleiding van uitdagingen, cursussen, estafettes en ruilen tesamen met individueel werk. Ben je in de buurt kom dan kijken, het is zeer de moeite waard.

I've colored white synthetic fabric with transfer paints. Covered that with painted vliesofix and finished of with paper flowers. Some flowers are cut from decorated paper, others are from colored newspapers.
Ik heb witte synthetische stof gekleurd met transfer paints. Geverfde vliesofix erop gestreken en afgemaakt met papieren bloemen. Sommige bloemen zijn uit decoratief papier geponst, andere zijn van gekleurd krantenpapier.

My first tea cosy is finished. Its green with beige and has white roses with leaves at the top.
Mijn eerste theemust is af. Hij is groen met beige en heeft witte rozen met bladeren bovenop.

This is one side of the second tea cosy. Its embellished with shells and facetted beads and lined, Have to embellish the second one and sew on the lining and then I can put it together.

Dit is 1 kant van de tweede theemuts. Hij is versierd met schelpen en facetkraaltjes en gevoerd. Ik moet de andere kant nog versieren en voeren. Dan kan het geheel in elkaar gezet.

During the past week I've received 1 AA and 3 bookpages in the mail.
First came this AA from Peggy. Lovely bright colors give the feel of summer.
Gedurende de afgelopen week heb ik 1 AA en 3 boekpagina's in de post ontvangen.
De eerste was deze AA van Peggy. Vrolijke, heldere kleuren geven een zomers gevoel.

This first page is made by Mandy. Behind the sheer top layer you can see a patterned fabric that changes when you move the page. It totally captures the Art Nouveau style. I love it.
Hier volgen twee textielpagina's met een ronde top. Voor deze ruil heb ik gevraagd om Jugendstil. De eerste pagina is gemaakt door Mandy. Achter de toplaag van organza kun je een stof met print zien, die verandert door de pagina te bewegen. Deze pagina is helemaal Jugendstil en ik vind 'm prachtig.

Dit is de achterkant van de pagina hierboven. Nog meer Jugendstil, maar in een andere techniek. Ook heel mooi gedaan.

Here we see Ann's page. This is a lovely page with a lot of texture in only 2 colors. The picture doesn't do it justice. My scanner isn't working and I couldn't get a proper photo from the page.
Also this one captures the Art Nouveau style very well. I love it.
Hier zien we de pagina die Ann heeft gemaakt. Een mooie pagina met veel reliëf in slechts 2 kleuren. In 't echt is ie veel mooier. M'n scanner heeft er de brui aan gegeven en het lukte niet om er een goede foto van te maken. Ook dit is een mooi voorbeeld van Jugendstil en ik vind 'm prachtig.

When I realized I didn't have a proper summer stole, by which a mean a nice, lacy white one, I rushed to the shop, bought a pile of white skeins and tried to make one up myself. When that didn't go as planned I went to my favorite site for stole patters. If you're a knitter you might like to take a look, but you'll be stuck there for a while, for there are many different patterns. Below are pictures of the finished stole that Jose is showing here for you. I'm very happy with the result. And it was a lovely pattern to knit.
Opeens realiseerde ik me dat ik geen fatsoenlijke zomer stola had, ik bedoel daarmee een wit kanten stola. Ik heb meteen een stapel bollen wit garen ingeslagen en geprobeerd er eentje te verzinnen. Dat lukte deze keer lukte dan niet lekker dus ben ik eens gaan rondkijken op m'n favoriete site met stola patronen. Als je een breister bent is dit een leuke site om te bekijken, maar dat gaat je tijd kosten want er staat heel veel moois op. Hieronder foto's van de witte zomerstola, geshowd door Jose. Ik heb heel blij met het resultaat. En het was een heerlijk patroon om te breien.

This is Arlene's block after I finished working on it. The theme is stumpwork and Arlene didn't ask for anything specific. At the above picture you see the BE seam I did using DMC floss for the vine and leaves and # 80 crochet cotton by Anchor and DMC. Below is the picture of the block after all my additions.

Dit is Arlene's blok nadat ik eraan heb gewerkt. Het thema is stumpwork (reliëfwerk?). Arlene heeft geen extra wensen. De afbeelding hierboven laat het borduurwerk in BE op de zoom zien. Ik heb voor het groen DMC splijtgaren gebruikt. Voor de rest katoenen haakgaren # 80 van zowel Anchor als DMC. Hieronder het blok na al mijn toevoegingen.

Art Nouveau flower with one wired detached petal. I meant to add a hummingbird underneath, but failed to work it out properly. Gerry is a pro in these things so hopefully she likes to do it. I also added a blue lace butterfly (received through a swap) and I embroidered the white late with double cast on stitches.
Jugendstil bloem waarvan 1 bloemblad apart is gemaakt met metaaldraad in de rand verwerkt. Daardoor kan het blaadje in de gewenste stand worden gebogen. Ik wilde een kolibri onder de bloem maken, maar kreeg het niet voor elkaar. Hopelijk wil Gerry dat doen, zij kan dat prachtig. Ik heb ook de blauwe kanten vlinder toegevoegd (ontvangen via een ruil) en ik heb op het witte kant geborduurd.

Crocheted blue basket filled with flowers. The centerpiece of this is the ornament with 3 small roses and leaves in fimoclay. Its a bought item. Maybe the twig with white flowers on the left hand is a bit overdone, but the flowers can me removed or altered when Arlene's prefers.
Gehaakt blauw mandje gevuld met bloemen. Het centrale ornament laat 3 roosjes met blaadjes van fimoklei zien, gekocht. Misschien is de tak met witte bloemen aan de linkerkant wat te zwaar geworden, maar de bloemen kunnen weggehaald of uitgedund worden als Arlene dat wil.

I have received 3 ATCs lately. The white one is Tortured felt by Lisa Ahmad, the red one is fabric paper by Aynsley McKay, both swapped through the SurfaceDesign group for the technique swap.

The blue ATC is made by Hopscotch for the May swap on stitchinfingers with a sea life theme.

Ik heb 3 ATCs ontvangen. De witte is van Lisa Ahmad en heet gefolterd vilt, de rode is gemaakt door
Aynsley McKay en is van papiertextiel. De blauwe is gemaakt door Hopscotch voor de ruil van de stitchinfingers groep van mei met thema zeeleven.

I have dyed some more fabrics using the same dyestock from the previous 6 pieces. They still turn out lovely.

Ik heb nog meer lappen geverfd met dezelfde verf die ik had aangemaakt voor de vorige 6. Ze geven nog steeds mooie kleuren.

I have been quiet for a while, because I've been ill. Its going around here. Luckily I feel better every day now. In between all the sleeping I did, I got some little things done.
Ik ben een poosje stil geweest omdat ik ziek was. Het schijnt hier te heersen. Gelukkig voel me iedere dag een stukje beter nu. Tussen al het slapen door heb ik toch nog wat dingetjes kunnen doen.

I found this kitty on lolcats and fell in love with it.
Ik kwam deze kat tegen op lolcats en was er meteen weg van.

Nicki Lee liked my crocheted baskets that I made for the swap on cqinternational. So I offered to crochet some baskets for her. And she also liked the ATC with the moon, so its on its way to her. I've crocheted 8 little baskets for her and this weekend arrived her package for me. Lots of dyed lace, fabric, a lace ribbon and a lace square. Plus the ATC above. I'm in awe with the mermaid. Wondering if she made it herself and if so, how. I've love to be able to do that too. The above lace heart looks very Art Nouveau, my favorite style and its painted in my favorite color. Yes I love yellow and ochre. I love warm, bright colors.

Nicki Lee vond m'n gehaakte mandjes erg mooi, dus heb ik aangeboden er een paar voor haar te haken. We hebben gelijk ATCs geruild. Zij wilde graag de ATC met de maan hebben. In ruil kwam er dit weekend een pakketje gevuld met schitterend geverfd kant. Prachtige kleuren en bijzondere motieven. Geweldig; en zo veel. Verder een bijzondere ATC met een zeemeermin. Als ze die zelf heeft gemaakt wil ik daar beslist meer over weten, wat knap. Behalve het kant en de ATC zat er ook nog een stukje stof, een kanten lint en een vierkant lapje kant bij. Overigens, het hart naast de ATC ziet er heel Jugendstil uit, helemaal waar ik van houd. En dan ook nog in m'n favoriete kleur. Ja ik houd van geel en oker. En heldere, warme kleuren.

After looking at this blog I got the idea of making this type of flowers. They are newspaper glued onto stif paper, ironed after drying and then the flower shapes were punched out. I colored them with silk paint.
Na te hebben rondgekeken op dit blog had ik het idee om dit soort bloemen te maken. Ze zijn van stukken krant op stevig papier gelijmd. Na het drogen gestreken en toen bloemvormen eruit geponst. Ik heb ze gekleurd met zijdeverf.

These two aren't finished yet. The left one needs the backing to be sewed on. I'm not happy with the right one. Like something is missing in the upper right corner. I've a little lace rose soaking in a bit of tea. I hope that'll give the right finish once its dry.
Deze twee zijn nog niet klaar. De linker moet nog een achterkant krijgen. En ik ben niet blij met de rechter. Ik vind dat er iets mist rechtsboven. Ik heb een kleine kanten roos in een bodempje thee gezet. Ik hoop dat dat de juiste toevoeging (na droging natuurlijk) is.

I'm making a textile page with a tree theme for Ruth. I should've sent it last month. Late as usual. I've made the stem with puff paint onto a hand dyed cotton covered with painted vliesofix. I will treat the puff paint with the heat gun and then color it with brown acrylic paint. That should create a realistic tree trunk. The loose woven fabric below is painted with 2 types of green paint. I will crunch it up and create the soil beneath the tree with it.
Ik ben een textiel pagina voor Ruth aan het maken. Die had vorige maand al klaar moeten zijn. Zoals gewoonlijk te laat. Ik heb een boomstam van puff paint gemaakt. De ondergrond is handgeverfde katoen met opgestreken met goud beschilderde vliesofix. Ik ga de puff paint met de heat gun bewerken en daarna met bruine acrylverf beschilderen. Dat moet een realistische boomstam geven. De losgeweven stof onderaan heb ik met twee soorten verf groen gemaakt. Ik ga 't verfrommelen en er de bosbodem onderaan de pagina mee maken.

Diane was the second to work on it and Calla, dragonfly and seam treatment with cast on stitches. Look at the leaves of the Calla. Aren't the special?! I've got to try those too. I already have a plan of what I'm going to add, but I ain't telling you yet.

Ze maakte de Calla, libel en borduurde de zoom met roze bloemetjes. Kijk eens naar de bladeren van de Calla, wat zijn ze bijzonder. Dat wil ik ook proberen. Ik heb al bedacht wat ik ga maken op dit blok maar vertel 't nog niet.

I made this rubbing onto a piece of fabric that I want to use for making more fabric paper a la Frieda Oxenham. I thought that a paint stick rubbing would work just as nice as stamping.
Ik heb dit gemaakt door met olieverfkrijt over een reliefplaatje te wrijven. Ik wil dit als basis voor textielpapier a la Frieda Oxenham gebruiken. Het lijkt me dat dit net zo goed moet werken als een gestempelde ondergrond.

Gayle has received her page so I can finally show it on my blog. I used a Dover stencil as my pattern. Embroidered chicks and backside of nest on hand dyed cotton. Made the front of the nest stumpwork style using knitting thread and Icelandic moss. Put some little feathers inside the nest. Twigs are couched down knitting thread. Flowers are silk flowers on which I embroidered the hearts. Flowers are silk, colored with Neocolor II, then the colors were mixed with some water. Leaves shapes were cut then the edges burned in a candle flame, embroidered the central spine to attach them.

Gayle heeft deze pagina ontvangen dus kan ik 'm eindelijk hier laten zien. Ik heb een Dover sjabloon gebruikt als voorbeeld. Borduurde de kuikens en de achterkant van het nest op zelf geverfde katoen. Maakte de voorkant van het nest op een apart lapje met opgenaaid breigaren en IJslands mos en appliceerde de zij- en onderkanten, boven is los en daar heb ik wat veertjes in gestopt. De takjes zijn opgenaaid breigaren, de bloemen zijn kunstbloemen met geborduurde hartjes. De blaadjes zijn van zijde, gekleurd met Neocolor II waarna ik met water de kleuren heb gemengd, vervolgens blaadjes uitgeknipt en met een kaarsvlammetje de randen heb geschroeid. Ik heb ze vastgezet door alleen de middennerf te borduren.
