here you can see the mask I'm working on. its for a mask themed fabric page. hier zie je het masker dat ik aan 't maken ben. het is voor een textielpagina met masker als thema.

this is the hearts bom designed by Shell. I've embroidered all hearts and the fabric strips are cut and ready to be sewn. I love these colors. dit is de harten bom ontworpen door Shell. ik heb alle harten geborduurd en de stof voor tussen de blokjes geknipt. ik houd van deze kleuren.

Birdie bom. April block is done. Birdie bom. Aprilblok is klaar.

Casper is still sick. He had another appointment at the vet today, just like yesterday and tomorrow. He got shots, but didn't need a drip today. We've started feeding him by hand. It goes in, like it or not. Until now it stays in. Yeah. He hasn't been eating for a week now. He still had a raised temperature, but looks more alert. Casper is nog steeds ziek. Hij moest vandaag weer naar de dierenarts, net als gister en morgen. Hij kreeg z'n prikken maar hoefde geen infuus. We voeren hem nu met de hand, onder dwang. Tot nog toe blijft 't binnen. Hij heeft nu al een week niet gegeten. Hij had nog steeds verhoging, maar is meer alert.

Casper, my sweet tomcat is sick. I took him to the vet and he got weighted, injected, infused, his temp was taken, they looked him in his throat and put some sticky stuff in his mouth. He hardly objected at all. During the evening he's getting his voice back but he still avoids food.

Casper, m'n lieve kater is ziek. Ik ben met 'm naar de dierenarts gegaan en ze hebben 'm gewogen, getemperatuurd, geïnjecteerd, hij kreeg een infuus, ze keken in z'n keel en toen kreeg ie een plakkerig spulletje in z'n bek. In de loop van de avond kreeg ie weer wat praatjes, maar eten, dat moet ie niet.

silk 28 x28 cm stitched spiral pulled thight as a resist dyed with rhodoniet marbles tied with rubber bands in cotton. bottom side in a layer of rhodoniet (red) top side dyed with opaliet (yellow) fabric folded, half circles stitched and tied thightly. dyed with beriet (very dark brown) fabric scrunched into a ball, dipped into dye (rhodoniet) for only 2 seconds.

I'm following the Henriëtta Whiskers BOM. It took a while to collect the right fabrics, but now I've put together a selection that I like very much. Here are the first 3 blocks. I will do the embroidery and embellishments later on. Ik volg de Henriëtta Whiskers BOM. Het duurde even eer ik de juiste stoffen had verzameld, maar nu heb een set die ik erg mooi vind. Hier zijn de eerste 3 blokken. Het borduurwerk en andere versiering doe ik later.

how to use lace to make a stamp

here is a motif that I cut out of a piece of lace curtain.
hier is een motief dat ik uit een stuk vitrage heb geknipt.

I asked my dad to saw a piece of wood in the shape of the motif.
ik vroeg mijn vader een stuk hout uit te zagen in de vorm van het motief.

I glued the motif onto the wood with carpet tape.
ik plakte het motief met tapijttape op het hout.

I applied 3 layers of gesso, making sure not to fill the lower parts with the paint.
ik heb 3 lagen gesso aangebracht en er goed op gelet het reliëf te bewaren.

here's my first try. I'd laid my fabric on a hard background. I will have to make a second print with fabric on a towel or something like that. that'll make the motif show up better. still I like it the way it turned out.
hier is m'n eerste afdruk. de stof lag op een harde ondergrond. ik ga nog een afdruk maken, maar dan leg ik de stof op een handdoek of zo. dan zal het motief beter afdrukken. evengoed ben ik tevreden met de afdruk.
