This is the block I'm currently werking on. I did the top lace motif, vine at the right and the Wisteria at the left. The vine will get ribbon roses.

I have been felting again. I do this sitting on my sofa, working on my lap pillow. The pieces are small. 

Ik ben weer aan het vilten geweest. Ik werk op mijn schootkussen, zittend op de bank.

I love how this sky turned out. The road looks fine too. Trees need embroidery.

Ik ben blij met de lucht zo. En de weg ziet er goed uit. De bomen moeten geborduurd.

I'm not happy about how this one turned out. The sky is too much and the road has the wrong angle.

 We went for another walk at the park of the Duivenvoorde castle in Voorschoten. A lot had changed in only a few weeks time. The weeping willow was still gorgeous tho'.

We zijn weer gaan wandelen in het bos van kasteel Duivenvoorde in Voorschoten. Er was veel veranderend in die paar weken tussentijd. De treurwilg is prachtig als altijd.

Didn't take as much photo's as last time. But I did pick up a tick. Discovered it in my neck in the middle of the night. 

Ik heb deze keer niet zoveel foto's genomen. Wel heb ik een teek opgedaan. Ontdekte 'm 's nachts aan m'n hals.

Last year I made a needlebook and pincushion for my SIL. Finally I have crocheted the matching timble holder for her.

 I will be participating in a cq rr with a cottage garden theme. This is the block I have for it and I just realize this shows the block sideways. At the top right corner you can see a birdhouse and nest.
Ik ga meedoen met een cq rr met een cottagetuinthema. Dit is het blok dat ik hiervoor wil gebruiken. Ik realiseer me nu dat het blok op z'n kant staat, zie rechtsboven de afbeelding van een vogelhuisje en nest.

 Aisha finds my reading glasses irrisistable and she knows exactly where they below. She also tries to put them on me, almost poking my eye out.
Aisha vindt mijn leesbril onweerstaanbaar en ze weet precies wat ze er mee moet. Ze probeert 'm ook bij mij op te zetten, waarbij ze bijna m'n oog uitsteekt.

Ik doe mee aan een boekpaginaruil van de Fibermailgroep. Mijn thema is "vogel". Ans Vrijhof heeft deze leuke pagina voor mij gemaakt. Een prima vogel om deze ruil mee te beginnen.

  Minoes loves to sit on top of my secretaire. From there she can oversee everything that happens in the room and also look outside on the busy road.
Minoes zit graag bovenop de secretaire, vanwaar ze een goed overzicht heeft op alles wat in de kamer gebeurd en buiten op de drukke weg.

The vessel made from tyvek and embellished with beads, has made it home. Sandra put the branches in it and I added the feather. I love how it looks, but Minoes prefers to taste it, alas.
Dit object, gemaakt van tyvek en versierd met kralen, is eindelijk thuis. Sandra heeft er takken in gezet en ik heb de veer toegevoegd. Ziet 't er niet mooi uit? Minoes probeert er helaas van te knabbelen.

 I received this page from Frances in Australia. The theme is funky bird. Frances didn't have to make one up, because they have plenty examples alive down under. This is the emu.

Ik heb deze funky bird pagina van Francis gekregen. Zij hoefde er niet eentje te bedenken want ze woont in Australië want daar lopen ze gewoon in 't echie rond. Dit is een emoe.

 Here we have a kingfisher made by Teresa. Such a cute translation from an existing bird to this fantasy bird. Can you tell Teresa is from Australia as well?
Dit is een "kingfisher" oftewel een ijsvogel, gemaakt door Teresa. Het is een heel grappige vertaling van het woord kingfisher naar een verzonnen vogel. Teresa woont ook in Australië.

I made this page for Helen. She asked for sayings. This page says: vis moet zwemmen or in English fish has to swim. This means that when you eat fish you get thirsty so you have to drink. I think this saying is typical for the Netherlands. Do any of you living abroad know this saying? Page is still traveling all the way to South Africa.

Dit is mijn pagina voor Helen. Zij vroeg om een spreekwoord. Ik hoop maar dat "vis moet zwemmen" typisch Nederlands is. De pagina is onderweg naar Zuid Afrika.

I've been making this wave onto soluvlies on the machine. It was meant to be added below the fish but the wave grew too big so I used it on the back.
Ik heb deze golf op soluvlies op de machine gestikt. 't Was de bedoeling dat deze onder de vis kwam, maar de golf werd te groot. Op de achterkant doet ie 't ook goed. 

Shelly asked for a vintage page with a bird. I had to color the lace and the fabric below the blue lace in tea. The backgrond fabric was left to dry all scrunched up to get an uneven pattern.
I decorated the peacock with wax pearls and the blue lace with ivory colored little beads.
Shelly wilde een vintage pagina met een vogel. Ik heb alles behalve het blauwe kant gekleurd in thee. De achtergrondlap heb ik in een prop laten drogen om een patroon in de stof te krijgen. Ik heb de pauw versierd met waspareltjes en het blauwe kant met ivoorkleurige kraaltjes.

vogel en nest

 This is the first bird I made from the book "the artful bird" by Abigail Patner Glassenberg. I didn't want to make a realistic bird. I picked white fabric with a small blue dot. I embroidered the wings and added lace to the edge of the wings, the tail and the head. I made the nest from wire that I covered with strips of white fabric and threads and a hint of blue. Blue beads for eyes and beak from white felt.
Dit is de eerste vogel die ik uit het boek "the artful bird" van Abigail Patner Glassenberg heb gemaakt. Ik wilde geen realistische vogel maken. Ik heb witte stof met een klein blauw
   stipje gebruikt. Ik heb de vleugels geborduurd en verder de vleugelranden, de start en de kop versierd met kant. Ik heb van metaaldraad een nest gemaakt dat ik heb omwikkeld met repen witte stof en witte garens en hier en daar een beetje blauw. Blauwe kraaltjes als ogen en een snavel van wit vilt.
