atcs and Karrin's ff block

recently I bought a lovely book on Brazilian Embroidery (BE). Its filled with great flowers and I want to do them all. Since I'm still working on Karrin's lilac block and there are no lilacs in the book, I picked this butterfly design to start with. Filling an area with herringbone stitches, bullion chain stitches, pistil stitches with 6 wraps that have to lay flat and the double cast on stitch were all new to me. I love the way the bullion chain stitches give a scalloped edge around the wings. I don't have the official BE threads I was supposed to use like Glory and Iris so I used Anchor # 80 throughout.
onlangs heb ik een schitterend book over Braziliaans borduurwerk (BE) gekocht. Het staat vol met prachtige bloemen en ik wil ze allemaal maken. Aangezien ik nog steeds met Karrins seringenblok bezig ben er er staan geen seringen in het boek, heb ik deze vlinder gekozen om mee te beginnen. Het was allemaal nieuw voor me: een vlak vullen met de flanelsteek, de staafknoopjeskettingsteek, spansteken met knoopjes van 6 windingen die nog plat moesten liggen ook en dan nog de steek voor het lijfje waarvan ik de nederlandse naam niet eens kan vinden. de geschulpte rand langs de vlinders dankzij de staafkn.kettingst. vind ik prachtig. Ik heb de officiële BE garens niet dus heb ik Anchor # 80 haakgaren gebruikt.

I have finished these two ATCs. Maureen had stitched an organza ribbon around my fabric page and I loved the look of it. So I tried it on the bird ATC. It looks OK but not as neat as Maureen's work.

Ik heb deze twee ATCs af. Maureen had een organza lint rondom mijn textiel pagina gestikt en ik vond dat er zo mooi uitzien. Dus probeerde ik het om de vogel ATC. Ziet er aardig uit maar niet zo mooi als Maureen's werk.
