verrassingslapje van de fibermail

I used the new cat stencil of a piece of purple felt and applied puff paint. I found that it isn't a good idea to use an adhesive stencil on felt coz it gives fluff. I like the cat tho'.
Ik heb m'n nieuwe kattenstencil gebruikt op een stuk paars vilt en puff paint opgebracht. Ik heb ontdekt dat dat niet gewelding werkt want het stencil plakt aan de ondergrond en maakt pluizen bij het loshalen. Ik vind de kat wel leuk.

Fibermail is starting a surprise project in September. Each participant sends in a piece of fabric, 20"square and everyone will work on the fabric and you have no idea how your fabric will turn out in the end. We're in a group of 6. Here I'm showing the booklet I made. I attached a label to the front using 2 pink star shaped eyelets and bound the pages with colorfull raffia.
Finermail start met een verrassingsproject in september. Iedere deelneemster stuurt een stuk stof op van 50 cm in 't vierkant en iedereen gaat eraan werken en je hebt geen idee hoe het er uiteindelijk uit gaat zien. We zijn met z'n zessen. Hier het boekje dat ik heb gemaakt. Ik heb een etiket bevestigd met 2 roze eyelets in de vorm van sterretjes en de pagina's zijn vastgezet met kleurige raffia.

Mijn stof voor het verrassingsproject, een parfait.


This is the fabric I received from Mia. Its a soft green shibori piece. I decided to continue with this technique. I gathered the top and bottom edge with strong thread, then twisted the tube of fabric until it coiled up and twisted with itself. I tied everything up with crochet thread. I will soak this in soda solution and apply procion dye with a brush. Depending on the result I will continue with more shibori. This is fun!
Deze stof heb ik gekregen van Mia. Het is een zachtgroen stuk shibori. Ik heb besloten verder te gaan in dezelfde techniek. Ik heb de onder- en bovenkant geregen met sterk draad en strak aangetrokken. De tube die zo ontstond heb ik gedraaid en wel zo strak dat de tube dubbel ging en in zichzelf draaide. Het geheel heb ik strak vastgebonden met haakkatoen. Dit laat ik weken in sodawater en verf de buitenkant met een kwast. Afhankelijk van het resultaat ga ik nog verder met meer shibori. Dit is leuk!

This fabric is bound so tight you can really know someone out with it.

Dit lapje is zo strak opgebonden, dat je er iemand me KO kan slaan.
